We have sourced enough salt to carry us through this winter, even though there has been a major problem with salt supplies (salt is known as grit) since last winter.
- Grit salt;

- pre-grit spreading service (to stop the settling of snow or formation of slippery ice);
- One-off snow clear or gritting call-out service;
- Automatic, Pro-active contracted clearances of snow and/or compacted ice.
The HSE 1992 Act (now including the HSE Preventing Slips and Trips at Work 2005 Act) states that in abnormal weather conditions, arrangements should be made to minimise risks from snow and ice on floorway and traffic routes. Meeting the requirements of this regulation can involve salt-gritting and snow clearing.
Pro-active service with Daily Weather Watch
Our fully comprehensive service is very cost effective, and includes the daily monitoring of long-range weather forecasts via our agreement with the Met Office, supply and spreading of rock salt and snow clearance to every size of customer – whatever their requirements.
A key aim of our gritting service is to give you peace of mind by knowing that come freezing rain, snow or ice, your property will be gritted before your customers and staff arrive.
Our quality service begins when you contact us for a quote. We then carry out a comprehensive site survey. From this survey we provide a price on a per-visit basis, with no up-front or retaining fee required.
If we get a red warning on an area meaning sub-zero temperatures with a risk of a white hoar frost (slippery white surface), black ice or snow we would then call you explain the hazardous conditions and you can then make the decision to grit or not.
Some companies prefer to be on an automatic callout, we are also happy to offer this service.
As well as gritting, we also offer a fantastic new service which involves our teams applying a liquid-spray of compacted snow areas, which lifts and breaks previously un-treated, now compacted areas, which then has to be cleared 24-48 hours after treatment. Although this is a fantastic product, which is available in our online shop, prevention of the snow/ice before it settles/compacts (through gritting or spaying with Sure-foot) is the best and most cost-effective option.
